Coral Creek String Band

The CORAL CREEK STRING BAND is a dynamic and talented acoustic project from Colorado, USA, playing genre-bending original music and unique renditions of traditional bluegrass tunes and Americana classics.  Coral Creek performs the original music of Chris Thompson (guitar/vocals) and features some of the top acoustic players in the Colorado music scene today including  Jordan Ramsey (mandolin/vocals), Christine King (fiddle/vocals) and Andrew Bonnis (bass/vocals).  With the release of his new record, THE ROAD AHEAD (produced by Bill Nershi of the String Cheese Incident), Chris Thompson has emerged on the Colorado music scene as a song-writing force appealing to the traditional bluegrass, new-grass and jam-band audiences alike.  The Coral Creek String Band released their first studio record, FORTY YEARS, in August of 2012 and will be supporting the record with tours in the US, Europe and the Caribbean.

Members of Coral Creek have performed and recorded with distinguished musicians including Sam Bush, Dave Grisman, Darol Anger, Gretchen Wilson, Sally van Meter, Tim Carbone (Railroad Earth), Bill Nershi, Kyle Hollingsworth and Keith Moseley (The String Cheese Incident), Drew Emmitt, Vince Herman and Andy Thorn (Leftover Salmon), Ben Kaufman and Adam Aijala (Yonder Mountain String Band), Pete Wernick (Hot Rize), Cornmeal, Hot Buttered Rum, Greensky Bluegrass, and more. Members of the Coral Creek String Band have played many of the top regional and national bluegrass, country and rock music festivals.  Since forming in early 2012, the Coral Creek String Band has headlined several festivals including the prestigious Birkenried Bluegrass Festival outside Ulm, Germany, kicking off a three week European tour.

Originally from Rochester, MN, Chris Thompson has lived and performed in Europe, Mexico, Southern Africa, the Caribbean and throughout the US.  In 2001, Chris settled down in Colorado, planted roots and started writing and recording his unique flavor of roots music.
